You can defrost in the fridge overnight or you can reheat in the microwave for 5-6 minutes. To freeze, bring it to room temperature and freeze in individual portions (about 3/4 to 1 cup at a time) in freezer Ziploc bags or in glass bowls. When frozen in small portions, it’s a pre-measured boost of protein for soup, salad or pasta dishes. Shredded chicken is super easy to freeze. You could also add a bit of water or extra sauce over top before reheating. To keep it from drying out, I recommend undercooking the chicken slightly when you're prepping it. You can serve it cold or reheat it in the microwave or in a frying pan on the stovetop. Shredded chicken will last in the fridge in an airtight glass container for up to four days.
